I realise I’ve been incredibly lazy at keeping this website and blog updated. But the current global situation means that I have no more excuses.
And I actually have lot of things to update you all on! Well, two main things . . .
The biggest piece of news I have to share is that I have now moved to London and am doing a publishing traineeship at Hachette UK.
I’ve been here since October 2019 and have loved every minute of it! At the moment I’m doing editorial training at Little, Brown Book Group. I spend my time learning about the publishing industry, reading submissions, shadowing on edits – which have even made it to the authors! – and generally supporting the editorial teams.
I’m with Hachette until September 2020 before I need to find a permanent role.
Wish me luck!
Bad Form Review
I’m so glad I’ve found a way to stay involved in writing and literary stuff in London outside of work.
Bad Form Review has been one way of doing this.
It’s a really cool literary review magazine by people of colour which looks to highlight their voices in the publishing industry.
I’ve written two short stories for it now and am currently writing this post as a way of procrastinating from submitting my third piece. I’ve been lucky enough to be invited as a regular contributor to the mag, so I must be doing something right!
I’ll try to be better
I didn’t think it will have been almost a year since my last post but it has (it was in May).
I’d like to use the extra time indoors as a way of writing more and keeping this site going.
It may fail spectacularly but I guess we’ll see!
